Fettuccine Alfredo
- 1 knob of butter
- 1 garlic, sliced length ways and the centre removed
- 1 tub of pouring cream
- 1 or 2 handfuls of a good quality parmesan (like this one)
- 100 gr of good quality ham, diced (get that here)
- Fettuccine (I want yours)
- Optional- a few sliced mushrooms (like this)
In a pan melt the butter and saute garlic (and mushrooms if using). Once the garlic has turned golden, remove it with a fork and remove the butter from the heat. Allow the butter to cool down slightly then add the cream and put the pot back on the heat, stirring continuously so as to not allow the cream to catch. Once the cream has reached a slight simmer add a handful of parmesan, salt and pepper and continue to stir. Taste to see if it needs more parmesan and once the parmesan has melted and the sauce has thickened add the ham to warm up slightly. Dress the fettucine with some more fresh parmesan and a light seasonig of salt and pepper. Presto!
